ABOUT THIS COMMISSION
The 991.1 Turbo S, produced between 2013 and 2016, is a high-performance variant of the 911 that combines advanced engineering with exceptional power. Powered by a 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged flat-six engine, it generates an impressive 552 bhp and 553 lb-ft, enabling 0-60 mph in just 2.9 seconds. The car features Porsche's active all-wheel drive system (PTM) and a 7-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission for swift gear changes and enhanced handling. Notable engineering highlights include Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), which adjusts suspension stiffness for optimal comfort and performance, and active aerodynamics with a retractable rear spoiler that adjusts to optimise downforce and reduce drag at high speeds. The Turbo's rear-wheel steering system also improves agility and stability, making it a formidable machine on both the road and track.

              ABOUT THE ARTIST
              Paul Ward has been a professional photographer for over twenty years now and recently won his category at the British Photography Awards 2020. Over the years his work has been published in many books and magazines both in the UK and internationally and his architectural images currently adorn the walls aboard Cunard’s flagship Queen Mary 2. Paul’s passion for cars started when he bought his first Austin Mini almost 30 years ago and ever since then he has been obsessed with both classic cars and modern supercars, so, as an image-maker, it’s not surprising that automobile photography has become a passion of his too.
